This morning finds me about 500 miles south of The Cabin in Savannah, GA. We are about to start the annual Board Conference for the Woodwork Career Alliance of North America here. The excitement level is rising as more and more people for all parts of the advanced woodworking industry are showing their support for the Skill Standards and Credentialing work of the WCA. Our LinkedIn Group is growing, and subject matter experts for all walks of woodworking are helping refine the standards. The Board is setting the course for the next 3-5 years as we roll out the program to all of North America. We will approve more tools and machines for the Standards at this meeting, bringing the total to 52, with over 150 operations defined. We’re about ready to issue the first Passports. Wow, what a ride so far.
